Qantas EA Update

News - Latest

Hey all,

Qantas members who attended roadshows over the past 3 weeks would have been aware that a potential Agreement was in the making with the airline.  On Friday the Federal Executive endorsed the terms that were presented after members supported what was being proposed.  Qantas were presented the document and have agreed with its content.  In FWA this afternoon both parties will be making a joint application for the new Agreement that will then be processed by the Commission some time early next year.  The terms of the Agreement will flow through to Forstaff LAMEs under the parity provisions.  In short the major items are -

• 4 year Agreement back dated to Jan this year.
• 3% Jan 2011
• Level in pay system Jan 2012, new lvl 16
• 3% Jan 2013
• Level in pay system Jan 2014, new level 17
• Quotas and restriction move up 2012 and 2014
• $22 per week to all LAMEs for holding EASA licences (unless already being paid it)
• New LAME entry level moves to 5
• Job security for existing functions
• Training bond of 17k for all aircraft types
• Roster vote moves from 66% to 50% plus one.

All the best for the Festive Season.

Cheers
