Today Qantas has applied for approval in Fair Work Australia of The Qantas Technical and Salaried Staff EBA8. The agreement was approved by a 79% majority on Tuesday 5^th October 2010. Qantas have informed the ALAEA that barring any hold ups in the Commission backpay should be made before Christmas. Following approval by FWA the Classification Review Process will commence as soon as possible by identifying an appropriate consulting firm to assist in the review. Members should gather as much information as possible on their current duties, responsibilities and accountabilities and how their current roles differ from the award descriptors 1992 to ensure appropriate work value can be established.
