As a result of onsite union meetings with employees/members concerning the EA survey 29 October 2010, the unions have now collated the necessary information.

Other items on the survey will also be used to formulate a log of claims. Further, comments relating to AME classification structure, allowances, paid public holidays & overtime rates, training, refresher training, disputes settlement, induction, LSL, 38 hour week, 10 hour break between shifts, 48 hour break between night shift and day shift, 15 days sick leave, pay slip information will be incorporated into a log of claims.
Of the 80 people that attended the day and night shift meetings 29 October 2010, 100% of attendees filled in and returned the survey. This is an extraordinary high up take of participants at both of these meetings.
Whilst the overall survey numbers were not as high as we had anticipated, our experience tells us that if there were and 200 surveys completed, the results would have probably been similar.
The unions thank employees/members for completing the survey. This information is extremely valuable and powerful information that will go towards a log of claims, which we hope to present to you to vote on later this month.
Another joint union EA update notice will be distributed by the AMWU, AWU & ALAEA no later than 16 November 2010, informing members of the next step in the EA process.
