Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
2010 has been a big year and 2011 is shaping up to be another busy one – with CASA launching a raft of regulatory changes beginning in January with the licence mail outs, Qantas EBA negotiations will resume again in February and our struggle for justice at Sunstate, keep your chins up lads we won't give up.
On behalf of the ALAEA Federal Executive, I’d like to wish all members and ALAEA staff a merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.
My thanks to members of the ALAEA executive, who contribute many hours of their time to ALAEA work on a voluntary basis. I’d also like to acknowledge and thank their families, who miss out on important family time due to the demands of union work. On that note, a special thanks to my wife Jackie and my kids who bear the brunt of phone calls at any time of the day and my travelling extensively on ALAEA business.
Christmas is a time for us all to reconnect with our families and enjoy a well-earned rest, before we continue our work of upholding the highest of aviation safety standards and maintaining and improving conditions for all Australian LAMEs in 2011.
Keep safe
PAUL COUSINS
Federal President
